Alma Frances Annie Huskisson
Alma Frances Annie
Huskisson was born July 14, 1888 at 88 Winscombe Road, Islington,
and baptised on January 20, 1895 at St Peter's, Highgate Hill.
She married George Arthur Leggett, a 'Paper Hanger' who had been born on March 4,
1888. Their marriage took place on March 15, 1908 at St Ann's Church, Tottenham.
George and Alma Leggett had
two children. The first, George William Charles Leggett (b.
September 7, 1908) worked as a Master Chef for much of his life being employed
by top London Hotels and Restaurants and even, apparently, the House of Commons.
He also served in the London Fire Service (AFS) during World War Two and later
married Ivy Rose (Huskisson). Ivy was the adopted daughter of Alma's brother,
Henry William John Huskisson. George (Jun.) and Ivy were therefore cousins, though not natural.
George and Alma's second child is believed to have died in infancy.
Alma died on January 17, 1966, and George Arthur some years earlier on January 17, 1961.
