Ann Elizabeth Huskisson

Ann Elizabeth Huskisson was born April 21, 1848 at 8 Brill Place, St. Pancras. She married Thomas Cheshire (born 1844 in Ashbourne, Derby, England) on September 21, 1868 at St. Pancras, Old Church, London. Thomas was the son of William Cheshire and Caroline \\. His occupation was a Cordwainer (source 1871, and 1901 censuses) though the 1881 census shows him as a Metal Perforator and in the 1891 census he is a Tack Store Keeper (presumably selling leather saddles).

In the 1871, Ann & Thomas were living with their daughter Harriet (b. St. Pancras bet. October - December 1870) at 6 Skinner Street, Somerstown, St Pancras.

1) There is an error in the 1891 census in which Thomas and Ann's daughter Harriett is mistakenly given the name Henry and listed as their son. The age is correct, so this cannot be a previously unknown son.

2) Harriett married Henry Albert Manley (b. bet. January - March 1871 in Battersea) in St Pancras bet. July - September 1892. They had 3 known children: Henry A. Manley (b. Clerkenwell bet. 1892 - 1893), William C. Manley (b. Clerkenwell bet. 1894 - 1895) and Thomas J Manley (b. St Giles bet. 1896 - 1897)

Thomas and Ann's other known children were:

William Henry Cheshire* (b. St. Pancras bet.1872 - 1873),

Alice Cheshire (b. St. Pancras bet. 1874 - 1875) (She married Charles Robinson (b. Neasden, Herts bet. 1866-1867) in Islington bet. October - December 1894. They had 2 known children: Charles Robinson – born Islington bet. 1897 – 1898 and William Robinson - born Islington bet. 1898 – 1899. Charles (Senior) was a Dustman at the time of the 1901 census and he and Alice and their family were living at 94 Brewery Road, Islington).

Thomas Cheshire (b. St. Pancras bet. April - June 1877),

Alfred Cheshire (born Islington bet. 1881 - 1882 who at the time of the 1901 census was a Private in the 2nd Devonshire Regiment), and

Ann Elizabeth Cheshire (b. Islington bet. April - June 1888 and died bet. October - December 1891).

====================================================================

Ann Elizabeth died of Broncho-Pneumonia and Cardiac Failure at Islington Infirmary, Highgate Hill on July 24, 1915. (Before admittance to the infirmary, she had been living at 35 Blundell Street, Islington. Her daughter, Alice Robinson was living at 41 Blundell Street, Islington.)

* My father, Wilfred and my Aunt Ivy both remembered THEIR father, Henry William John Huskisson talking about his friend, 'Bill Cheshire'. This could be that person; indeed, William Henry Cheshire was a witness to the marriage of Alma Frances Annie Huskisson and George Arthur Leggett in 1908.
