James Joseph Binks

James was born bet. July - September 1845 in Clerkenwell.

He appears in the 1851 British census living with his parents and brothers at 20 Skinner Street, Finsbury (Clerkenwell).

Joseph emigrated with his parents to Ontario, Canada, possibly in 1857 with his Uncle Colin A. H. Binks' family.

James was a Compositor, by profession. He married Jane Bowls (b. bet. 1857 - 1858 in Ottawa) on May 16, 1882 at Rochesterville, Nepean, Ontario. The marriage registration states that James' religion was 'Church of England' and Jane was a Roman Catholic. They were married by a Church of England minister.

The 1891 census shows James and Jane living in Carleton, Ontario with three daughters, Anne (8), Blanch (7) and Grace (5).

Jane died on January 2, 1894 in Carleton, Ottawa.

James died at 190 Dufferin Road, Carleton, Ottawa, Ontario on July 9, 1918.
