Lydia Laurie Alma Huskisson

Fred Butler & Lydia on their wedding day

Lydia Laurie (or Laura, according to some sources) Alma Huskisson was born August 21, 1886 at 19 Scholefield Road, Islington. She married Frederick Anthony Butler (born bet. 1882 - 1883) on August 11, 1907 at Holy Trinity Church, East Finchley, and had six children. Grace Butler (b. abt. 1908), Ivy Butler (b. abt. 1910), Muriel Butler (b. abt. 1915), John Butler - known as 'Jack' (b. May 8, 1917), Joan Phoebe Butler (b. May 18, 1920) and Maureen Anita Butler (b. 1931).

Lydia was known (at least in my Father's family) as 'Lillian' or 'Lil'. Frederick was a train driver and later, after being sacked for stealing coal (!) worked as a Baker's odd job man.

Sometime after Frederick's death (June 21, 1959), Lydia re-married to Nelson Amos Plummer, a retired school teacher.

Lydia died on December 31, 1966 at 143 Bournemouth Park Road, Southend-On-Sea, Essex.
